ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I'm Interested in Getting More Information, What Does Two Cooks Need to Know:
Here are the general bits we need to know in order to put a custom proposal together for you:

- What date are you looking for? You can find our availability HERE if you're looking for a date.
- What venue have you picked?
- How many guests are you anticipating?
- What sort of food are you interested in?
- What type of service do you want? i.e. buffet, sit down
- What is your budget? Our quote will include the following: food, labor, service charge & tax.
- Are you working with a wedding coordinator?
- If yes: which one, are they doing full cordination or a custom package?
- If not would you be interested in us coordinating your rentals for you?
- Have you picked your other vendors yet? If so who are they?

Getting on the Two Cooks Calendar:
Events are not booked and confirmed, and will not be placed on the Two Cooks calendar, until the non-refundable deposit has been paid in full. Unfortunately we cannot "pencil in" dates on our calendar.

Tastings:
Yes, we do offer tastings of our food. If you are having a tasting of a specific menu, we charge $30 for a tasting - this is the total cost, not a per person charge. This fee is to cover the cost of raw ingredients purchased from farmer's market & local merchants. We do not charge for our time.

Prices:
All prices are subject to change. Prices quoted are for food only. Prices listed do not include: rentals, labor, tax or gratuity.

Guest Count:

Yes we do cater parties of less than 100 people. Prices listed are based on 100 guests, you can expect the cost/person to increase if your anticipated guest count is under 100.

Staffing:
Two Cooks has amazing front-of-house staff and come fully prepared to work your event from set-up to break-down and final venue walk through. For a buffet we use a 30:1 ratio (guest:staff) for front-of-house and kitchen staff. For family style or full service we use a 20:1 ratio. We are also happy to include bartenders should you require them.

Serving Alcohol:
We are more than happy to serve any alcohol that you provide for your event. We do not have a liquor license and cannot sell you alcohol - but can serve anything that you provide. If you need assistance with shopping we are more than happy to point you in the right direction. We have fully trained bartenders on staff should you wish to have a full bar at your event. We do not charge a corkage fee for serving your wine.

Buffet Food:
We always prepare a percentage more than your final count. Your guests are invited for seconds until we run out or it is obvious that we can close the buffet. Any leftovers remain the property of Two Cooks Catering. We will be happy to pack a couple of to-go boxes if it has been previously arranged.

Cake Cutting:
We are more than happy to cut your wedding cake for you. We do not charge a cutting fee.

Wedding Cakes:
If you book your event with Two Cooks, you get priority on our wedding cake service. This is a special service we offer to our customers. All cakes are baked by Chef Russell himself. If you are just looking for a wedding cake availability depends on our booking schedule.

Payment:
Full payment is due before the event.

Rentals:
Should you need rentals for your event, we would be happy to assist you with this. All rental orders are charged a rental coordination fee of 21% and sales tax. Here are examples of typical rental prices - buffet service $23/person, full service $24/person (prices subject to change).

Service Fee:
A service fee of 21% is charged on all events. It contributes to offset wages for the wait staff, bartenders, kitchen staff and office personnel.

Sales Tax:
Sales tax for the city of San Luis Obispo is 7.75% and is applied to your total bill. As a caterer we are required to charge tax on all items we bill.

Returned Check Fee:
Should a check payment be returned, a $50.00 fee will be charged on the returned check and all further payments may be paid by cash or credit card only.
